A/Prof Brendon Dellar
Clinical Psychologist

A/Prof Brendon Dellar is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology (Curtin University) and a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society of Clinical Psychologists (FCCLP). He teaches trainee Clinical Psychologists studying at a Masters and Doctoral level in the area of Psychological Assessment and report writing as well as Addictions and Neuropsychology.

Brendon currently supervises postgraduate students on clinical practicums and Clinical Psychologist Registrars completing their training for endorsed title. He is registered with AHPRA to provide clinical supervision at all levels.

A/Prof Dellar currently teaches at Masters level in Clinical Psychology at Curtin University, as well as guest lectures at Notre Dame (Medicine Program) and Murdoch Universities.

A/Prof Bradleigh Hayhow
Consultant Neuropsychiatrist

A/Prof Bradleigh Hayhow is a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist at Fiona Stanley Hospital and the state Neurosciences Unit. Due to Academic appointments and Hospital Based employment, Dr Hayhow is not currently seeing patients at Cygnet and remains on our Expert Advisory Team. All Fremantle Psychiatric referrals are advised to be directed to Dr Tanna.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and during training undertook clinical & research fellowships at the Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Centre.

A/Prof Hayhow’s interests include the mood and affective disorders (especially related to primary neurological conditions), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Touretts Syndrome, General Adult and Young Adult Psychiatry. He is also Associate Professor and head of Psychiatry specialisation at Notre Dame University Fremantle.

Dr Raj Tanna
Consultant Psychiatrist

Fellow of Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists

Dr Raj Tanna is a specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapeutic Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Tanna has extensive experience in the assessment and management of a broad range of Mental Health illnesses including psychosis, depression, bipolar affective disorders, anxiety, OCD, stress related and post traumatic disorders, personality issues & Psychotherapeutic medicine in the General Adult and Young Adult population.
Most recently he served as Head of Services at Joondalup Community Mental Health Services, providing expertise and leadership to achieve quality patient centred services.

 My approach is to collaborate and address issues together with an emphasis on strengths. I believe that everyone has the right to good mental health and to receive ethical, high quality and evidence informed care. This is a collective community endeavour; as a family member of people with mental illness, I deeply understand the complex needs for recovery”.

Dr Sanjay Khanna
Consultant Psychiatrist

Fellow of Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists

Dr Sanjay Khanna MBBS, MD, FRANZCP is a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 22 years experience in the management of all types of adult mental health.

His areas of expertise include General Adult Psychiatry, managing ADHD, Old Age Psychiatry, Drug and Alcohol related Disorders, Eating Disorders and Consultation Liaison. He is also interested in Cultural Psychiatry and happy to review clients from CALD (people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds).

Dr Khanna is a qualified Psychiatrist and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). After completing his training and advance training in India in 1999, Dr Khanna worked as a consultant in India before moving to the Middle East where he worked as Specialist “A” for a number of years.

Dr Khanna restarted his career in Australia as a Senior Registrar in 2004, and gradually moved and successfully gained his FRANZCP in 2013. He worked in various hospitals in NSW before moving to Bunbury, WA in 2007.

Dr Georgia Henderson
Clinical Psychologist
BA(Hons), DPsych(Clin) UWA

Dr Henderson has a special interest in Eating Disorders. She has experience in Australian and in the United Kingdom. She is available Tuesdays and Thursdays at Cygnet Fremantle

Her experience includes Individual and group treatment including DBT, CBT, EFT, IPT, ACT, Mindfulness-based, CBT for psychosis and FBT for eating disorders. 

Dr Henderson has worked in a variety of in-patient and corrective facilities both in Australia and the United Kingdom. She had previously worked in Cygnet Clinic Midland in 2012 prior to working abroad before returning to Western Australia. 
Dr Suzie Brans
Clinical Psychologist

Dr Suzie Brans is a clinical psychologist currently working at Cygnet Clinic Fremantle. She is endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist and Supervisor with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, trauma, adjustment to illness and major life events, mood disorders, psycho-oncology, low self-esteem and emotion regulation difficulties.

Suzie has extensive experience working with the complex interplay between physical and mental health and a special interest in the integration of faith and psychology.
Dr Kaine Grigg
Clinical Psychologist

Kaine has a wealth of clinical experience and knowledge across a variety of settings, including working with children, adolescents, and adults; individuals impacted by substance use/dependence; psychosis; trauma; and individuals with offending histories. Kaine has worked in various roles as a Youth Worker, Outreach Worker, and Psychologist.

Kaine has worked in residential alcohol and other drug withdrawal units, community mental health services, forensic mental health hospitals, prisons & juvenile detention facilities, and in court assessment clinics. 

Polina Russell

Clinical Psychologist & Sexologist

BBehSc, BAPsych (Hons), PGDipSx, MSx, MPsych (Clin), MAPS

Polina is a Clinical Psychologist currently working at Cygnet Clinic Fremantle as well as for a non-for-profit organisation in the disability sector.

She has a Master of Sexology which has complimented and expanded her interest in working with individuals and couples who are experiencing sexual difficulties, dysfunction or discrepancies.

Her other areas of clinical interest include managing anxiety, depression, anger and stress as well as increasing self-esteem and self-compassion. She enjoys working with both adults and children and has had extensive experience in group therapies.  

Lloyd Fernandez

Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Supervisor

Lloyd Fernandez is a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He has been practising for over 25 years. He provides counselling, psychotherapy, consultancy, and clinical supervision. He works with individuals, couples, groups and organisations (EAP). Lloyd works part-time at Cygnet Clinic in Fremantle on Saturdays.

He works with people across the lifespan for general counselling. He has a particular interest in working with parents in the early years, parent-child attachment, men's issues, trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, relationships, grief and loss, and self-esteem.

Bernard Hughes

Clinical Psychologist 

BSc(Hons) MPsych(Clinical)

Bernard is an experienced Psychologist, with a special interest in sleep disorders, anxiety and rumination. Bernard has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology examining psychological aspects of sleep. He is experienced in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar affective disorder and personality disorders. Bernard is Cygnet preferred practitioner for Criminal Injuries Compensation.

His assessment skills extends to the preparation of reports for a number of purposes, including (but not limited to) intellectual assessments, cogntive assessments, assessments of functioning, workers compensation & rehabilitation based reports.  He is also trained in the use of EMDR for trauma.

Dr Claire Mitchell

Clinical Psychologist

Claire is a Clinical Psychologist who has experience across inpatient/outpatient hospital settings and the not-for profit community sector. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults.

She has a clinical interest in working with perinatal mental health/attachment-based parenting, grief/ loss, adjustment to transitions, trauma, gender- and sexuality-related Issues, anxiety, depression, and stress, and psychosis/other unusual perceptual experiences.

Claire is available Mondays at Cygnet Fremantle.

Mr Walace Duarte

Clinical Psychologist

MCounsel, MPsych(Clin)

Walace is a Clinical Psychologist with 20 years experience working in mental health, in a variety of roles and environments, including; the drug and alcohol sector, community outreach, employment services, private practice and public health.   

Walace has worked with diverse groups, including; children/adolescents, couples, carers, emergency first responders, defence personnel, perpetrators of DV and indigenous groups.

He is currently working in a community mental health team, treating chronic, acute and high risk psychiatric presentations.

Sarah Haythornthwaite

Clinical Psychologist

Sarah Haythornthwaite has been working as a Clinical Psychologist for 20 years. Sarah enjoys working across the lifespan, with adults, young people, children and families.

Sarah is registered with the Psychologists’ Board of AHPRA, with endorsed area of practice Clinical Psychology, and she is also a Psychologists’ Board endorsed Clinical Supervisor. Sarah has been a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) throughout her career. Sarah draws on a number of evidence based theoretical perspectives to inform her therapeutic work. The strong foundation of her practice has been cognitive behavioural therapy, but she is also informed by perspectives such as developmental theories, interpersonal understandings, systemic and family therapy and narrative therapy.
